LONGBOAT KEY
GARDEN CLUB!
OUR MISSION
The Longboat Key Garden Club is a non-profit social, philanthropic, and eco-friendly organization.
The club awards grants to non-profit organizations involved in local environmental activities, scholarships to college students studying the environment, and camp learning experiences to local children and member-generated programs. We also support local beautification programs on Longboat Key.
Our goal of combining education and beautification allows the club to pursue a wide range of activities to implement a lasting impact on our local communities.
BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS
Each year, the Longboat Key Garden Club picks local sites to do landscaping projects. In the past, beautification projects have included the Public Works, the Post Office and the Butterfly Garden. This year, we'll do projects at the new Fire Department and the Town Center.
Protect our Wildlife
Early Environment
Education
Our goal is to focus on preserving the birds, sea turtles and all animals who depend on our trees, our waters and our environment. Save Our Seabirds and the LBK Turtle Watch are just two of the organizations that we support.
We provide local Florida children with the opportunity to attend camps at Selby Gardens & Mote Marine that might not otherwise be able to attend.
Beach & Marine Conservation
Our beaches and natural plants are some of the island's precious beauty. Your donation provides grants to organizations like the Mote Marine and Sarasota Bay Watch, both of which are dedicated to protecting and improving our local marine and plant life.
